Dave Meyer is Founder and Principal of ValueStream Performance Advisors.  Dave now works in a senior capacity directing environmental, health and safety matters for a major neurosciences biotechnology company in the San Francisco, California area.   His principal focus has been to help organizations achieve environmental sustainability program excellence, leverage regulatory compliance risks, and optimize organizational effectiveness. A passionate, results oriented thought leader, Dave has  a proven record of leading strategic organizational improvement, fostering environmental stewardship and creating upstream value in highly competitive markets.

Dave has over 30 years of progressive experience in environmental sustainability, energy efficiency evaluation, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS), OHSAS 18001 planning and implementation, EO 13148 compliance, planning and implementation (over 30 successful registrations since 1997), permitting and multi-media compliance, health and safety, and environmental liability auditing.  He also has demonstrable technical expertise in natural resources conservation, water and wastewater quality, energy efficiency and reduction, climate change, environmental documentation, sustainable supply chain procurement, facility siting and management. Extensive experience related to stakeholder management and regulatory liaison/negotiation for a variety of public sector public works, biotechnology & healthcare, entertainment, energy, private manufacturing, commercial and Federal clients (including numerous Fortune 100 companies).

Dave founded the Southern California EMS Practitioners Forum and the San Diego Regional Sustainability Partnership (Metrics Task Force Chair), and was most recently chair of the Industrial Environmental Associations Sustainable Practices Committees. He is presently adjunct faculty in the UC-San Diego Extension Studies Business Management and Accounting curriculum, and participates on the Portland Business Alliance Sustainability Committee. He has developed and taught curricula associated with “green supply chain”, environmental sustainability concepts and life cycle assessment as part of the extension programs growing sustainability curricula.

Dave has also provided energy efficiency, pollution prevention/waste minimization, regulated waste management and environmental compliance/management systems training for over 3000 individuals from private industry, the energy/utility industry, and government. Dave  has managed dozens of projects and programs related to energy, solid waste and water development projects throughout the western U.S. and overseas.
